Rangers Advance To State Championship Game

Basketball (NNDC) – The Forest Park Rangers continued their winning ways Saturday afternoon with a 58 to 47 win over Indianapolis Scecina in the championship game of the IHSAA Class 2A Washington Semistate. The victory, the Rangers 12th in a row, sends them into the state championship game next Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis where they will play Oak Hill, winner of the Huntington Semistate, at 12:45 p.m.

Forest Park reaches the state title game for the fourth time, the first since 2006 when the Rangers won the state title for the second year in a row. Oak Hill, 25 and 5 with a 13-game winning streak, defeated Westview, 70 to 64, at Huntington to reach the state for the first time in school history. The Rangers have won 15 of their last 18 games, the Golden Eagles have won 16 of their last 17. Oak Hill is located outside of Converse in Grant County just west of Marion.
