Lenora M. Heilers, 91, Ferdinand

Lenora M. Heilers, 91, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (March 11) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born in Mariah Hill July 9, 1926, to John and Theresia (Gogel) Daunhauer. She married Irvin J. Heilers October 19, 1946, in Atlanta. He died April 19, 2004.

Lenora was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church and its St. Anne’s Sodality. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower garden, baking, cooking, and being with family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Fromme and husband Elmer and Mary Schum and husband Dan, all of Ferdinand; two sons, Gene Heilers and wife Nancy, Wheaton, Illinois, and Pat Heilers and wife Denise, Ferdinand; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;  and 4 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ardella Wilmes, Jasper, and Bernida Jochim, Mariah Hill.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Allen Heilers, one granddaughter, Chelsea Schum, who died in infancy, three brothers, Thomas “Pat”, Paul “Jeff,” and Clarence Daunhauer, and five sisters, Rose Bitzer, Phyllis Dilger, Verena Bettag, Agnes Schum, and Cornelia Boehman.
