Harold Lee Hoffman, 71, Crystal

Harold Lee Hoffman, 71, of Crystal, died Saturday (February 24) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born in Brazil October 22, 1946, to Harold Wayne and Betty (Knust) Hoffman.

Lee owned and operated Hoffman Auto Supply in Rockport and Owensboro for many years and earlier was a teacher at Heritage Hills High School. He was a graduate of Brazil High School and Indiana State Lee graduated from Brazil High School and from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. He was a Freemason with the Gentryville No. 424 Indiana Freemasons and a member of Hadi Shrine.For over 30 year his life passion was dirt track racing. He won several track championships during a successful racing career in the tri-state area.

He is survived by one daughter, Amy L. Hobbs and husband David, Chandoler; one son, Andy Hoffman and wife Jaline, Jasper; his companion; Ruthann May, Crystal; four grandchildren, Caty and Corryn Hobbs, Amanda Miller, and Jordan Hoffman; and three step-grandchildren, Natasha Brescher and Jesse and Jocelyn Fromme.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Herbie Hoffman.

Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Warrick County. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Kris Brown will officiate.
