Raiders, Rangers Win Regular Season Finales

Basketball (NNDC) – Southridge and Forest Park were winners Friday night as the curtain came down on the IHSAA high school boys basketball 2017-18 regular season.

The Raiders won at Boonville, 63 to 41, snapping a 4-game losing streak. They will take a 10-13 record into the 3A Sectional 31 Friday night at Memorial Gym in Huntingburg. Southridge drew a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Tuesday night opening game between Pike Central and Sullivan. Boonville closed regular season play with a 5-17 mark.

The Rangers posted their sixth straight win with a 61 to 50 triumph at Northeast Dubois, snapping the Jeeps’ five-game win streak. Forest Park will take a 19 and 4 record into the 2A Sectional 48 at Castle, hosted by Tecumeh. The Rangers, who won 10 of their last 13 games, will face South Spencer in a first round game Wednesday. NE Dubois, who also won 10 of its last 13 games, will take a 13 and 9 record into the 1A Sectional 64 at Springs Valley. The Jeeps will face Wood Memorial in the opening game Tuesday night.
