Juanita D. Hagemeyer, 85, of Stendal, died Thursday (February 22) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born in Stendal November 13, 1932, to Benjamin and Mary (Egbert) Butke. She married Maurice Hagemeyer November 5, 1954, in Stendal.

Juanita was a homemaker, teacher, and postal worker. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Stendal and the Southern Bells Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice Hagemeyer; two daughters, Gwenn Laughlin and husband Edward, Holland, and Jennifer Myers and husband Dr. John, Evansville; one son, Jeff Hagemeyer and wife Debbie, Ferdinand; two brothers, Reuben Butke, Stendal, and Gerald Cannon, Centerville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Austin Butke, and one sister, Dorothy Cannon.

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, and from 9-10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Peters Church Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be shared at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate at the service.
