Charles Eugene Heim, 73, Selvin

Charles Eugene Heim, 73, of Selvin, died Sunday (February 28) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Huntingburg February 14, 1945, to Russell and Erma (Sickbert) Heim. He married Sondra Taylor May 18, 1990.

Charles was a 20 year veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. After service he worked as a mechanic and a truck driver. He was a member of the Selvin United Methodist Church, the Boonville Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and Boonville American Legion Post #200.

He is survived by his wife, Sondra Heim; two sons, Jeffery Heim, Ferdinand, and Tony Heim, Augusta, Georgia; three daughters, Belinda Hall, Jasper, Darlene Lawson, Clarksville, Tennessee, and Charlene Roy-Heim, Evansville; one stepdaughter, Dawn Wibbeler, Selvin; three brothers, Irvin Heim, Chandler, George Heim, Huntingburg, and Jess Heim, Holland; two sisters, Bev Martin, Henryville, and Sue DeMontigny, Holland; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. An Odd Fellows vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Selvin United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in the Selvin Cemetery. Pastor Karen Sureck will officiate at the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Service.
