Esther M. Giesler, 88, Jasper

Esther M. Giesler, 88, of Jasper, died Thursday (February 8) at the Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Ferdinand April 22, 1929, to Pius and Frances (Oeding) Oser. She married Arnold Giesler October 16, 1948. He died August 3, 2010.

Esther retired as a supervisor from the Jasper Glove Company after many years of service. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its Blessed Virgin Sodality. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, sewing and quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Joey Hurm and husband Dave and Sandy Smith and husband Brad, all of Jasper; Mike Giesler and wife Alice, Ireland; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one brother, James Oser and wife Rita, Ferdinand.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in deah by three sisters, Verena Manning, Olivia Meyer, and Lucille Oser, who died in infancy; five brothers, Lawrence, Hugo, Paul, Raymond, and Hilary Oser.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Church. The Holy Family BlessedVirgin Sodality will pray the rosary at 8:45 a.m. at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian Burial  will be held at 11a.m. Monday at the church with entombment following in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
