Henry “Frank” Huff, 90, St. Anthony

Henry “Frank” Huff, 90, of St. Anthony, died Thursday (February 1) at Cypress Grove Rehab Center in Newburgh. He was born in Birdseye November 26, 1927, to Clifford and Elsie (Waddle) Huff. He married Kathleen Bean May 22, 1948, in Birdseye. She died July 20, 2002.

Frank served in the Army Air Force during World War II, worked as a superintendent at the Ferdinand State Forest, as parts manager at Armstrong’s John Deer, and retired as a parts manager from Stone and Stemle. He was an elder at the Anderson Valley Christian Church where he sang in the choir, was a member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM where he served as past secretary and worshipful master, was a member of Birdseye Eastern Star #590, past president of Cox Cemetery, member of St. Anthony American Legion Post #493, past precinct committeeman for the Republican Party, and was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Kyana.”

He is survived by two sons, David Huff and wife Laura, Maryville, Tennessee, and Herbert Huff and wife Kathy, Birdseye; three daughters, Janice Lytle and husband Dean, Birdseye, and Karen Mason and husband Tommy and Sharon Wright, all of Eckerty; one sister, Nora Fleck, Birdseye; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda Schroeder, two brothers, John Arthur and Riley Huff, one sister, Margaret Schroeder, and one granddaughter, Rachel K. Huff.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.nassandson.com. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial following in Cox Cemetery near Kyana. The St. Anthony American Legion Post #493 memorial detail will conduct military graveside rites. Pastor Chuck Crews will officiate at the service.
