Rose Lee Marie Denk, 90, Jasper

Rose Lee Marie Denk, 90, of Jasper, died Monday (January 29) at St. Charles Heath Campus in Jasper, Indiana. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, December 30, 1927, to Albert and Clara (Buechler) Block. She married Eugene Denk October 12, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died October 21, 2008.

Rose Lee retired from the cafeteria at Jasper High School where she worked until she was 85. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, enjoyed playing cards, dancing at the VFW, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou McKinney and husband David, Francisco, and Barb Trambaugh and husband Tony and Theresa Gehlhausen and husband Mark, all of Jasper; three sons, Mike Denk and wife Marla, Portersville, Greg Denk and wife Kathy, Greenwood, and Rick Denk and wife Diane, Jasper; 18 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Virginia “Ginny” Jones, and two brothers, Cyril and James Block.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel Home in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherkluesner.com. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery.
