Patricia Ruth Seckinger, 89, St. Meinrad

Patricia Ruth Seckinger, 89, of St. Meinrad, died Saturday (January 27) at her home. She was born in Huntingburg February 1, 1928, to Clem and Viola (Woerter) Messmer. She married John V. Seckinger January 21, 1947, in Huntingburg. He died April 16, 2004.

Patricia was a member of St. Meinrad Parish and its St. Elizabeth Society and Ladies Sodality, St. Meinrad Legion No. 366 Auxillary, Twin Lakes Home Economics Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and St. Meinrad Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Tretter and husband Alvin, Newburgh; two sons, Mike Seckinger and wife Sandy, St. Meinrad, and Bob Seckinger and wife Kathy, Fulda; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bernard Messmer and wife Sharon, Jasper. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Lee Ray Seckinger, one daughter, Ruth Ann Seckinger, one granddaughter, Theresa Seckinger, one great-grandson, Luke Tretter, two brothers, Paul and Steve Messmer, and one sister, Suzann Schiewer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and from 9-10 a.m. Friday at St. Meinrad Church. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
