Ardella M. Daunhauer, 90, Ferdinand

Ardella M. Daunhauer, 90, of Ferdinand died Saturday (January 27) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. She was born in Jasper January 31, 1927, toi Hugo and Sarah (Knust) Sander. She married Jerome S. Daunhauer August 12, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He died April 16, 1968.

Ardella was retired from Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, and its St. Anne Sodality. She was also a member of Ferdinand American Legion Auxiliary Post 124.

She is survived by one son, Charles Daunhauer and wife Sara, Newburg; one daughter, Brenda Werne, Ferdinand; one brother, David Sander and wife Marsha, Indianapolis, one sister, Margaret Goldsby and husband Tom, Indianapolis; one step-brother, Jerry Schuster; three step-sisters, Mary Butler, Margie Cahill, and Betty McPherson; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Werne and Marlene Kress, one grandchild, one brother, Richard Sander, and her step-mother, Helen Schuster.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
