Frank A. Kimmel, 61, Huntingburg

Frank A. Kimmel, 61, of Huntingburg, died Monday (January 22) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Evansville October 23, 1956, to Vernon and Freida Gloria (Phelps) Kimmel. He married Judith A. Trusty August 26, 1979, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.

Frank was employed at Styline Corporation and retired from Jasper Engines and Transmissions where he worked for 32 years. He was a member of the Jasper American Legion and Foster’s Ridge Christian Church in Uniontown. He served in the Army National Guard for 16 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Kimmel; one daughter, Rachel Kimmel, Huntingburg; one son, Matthew Kimmel and wife Kelsie, Washington; one sister, Mary Boehman and husband Gerald “Jerry,” Jasper; two brothers, George Kimmel and wife Dorothy, Cuzco, and David Kimmell and wife Joyce, Holland; and three grandchildren, Aiden Stahl, Huntingburg, and Kayl Kimmel and Callan Underwood, both of Washington.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jake Kimmel, and one sister, Becky Kimmel.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial following in Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Brian Martin will officiate. The Jasper American Legion Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.
