Robert H.L. “Bob” Huddleston, 95, Holland

Robert H.L. “Bob” Huddleston, 95, of Holland, died Saturday (January 13) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Henry County August 17, 1922, to Clyde and Edith (Warton) Huddleston. He married Emily June Shiflett February 18, 1948, in Waterloo, Illinois. She died in 1978. He married Lottie Grace Hilderbrand November 16, 1987, in Muncie. She died in 2009.

Bob worked as a railroad agent for Norfolk & Western Railway where he retired. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, VFW Post #2366, and the Holland American Legion and was a ham radio operator/enthusiast.

He is survived by two daughters, Roberta Meyer and husband David, Holland, and Carol Meyerholtz and husband Gary, Huntingburg; one son, Tom Huddleston, Holland; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchilden; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and two wives, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Peggy Crawford and Tom, Clyde Jr., Gale, and Dale Huddleston.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Darling officiating. Online condolences may be shared at

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin, Indiana. Funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial following in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing. A memorial detail will conduct military graveside rites.
