Edward H. Oser, 89, Ferdinand

Edward H. Oser, 89, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (January 7) at his home. He was born in Ferdinand June 7, 1928, to Edward and Margaret (Nord) Oser. He was raised by John Mohr, Sr. and Augusta (Oser) Mohr. He married Francille Krampe November 11, 1947, in Ferdinand. She died December 19, 1969. He married Martha Hedinger Lee September 3, 1977, in St. Meinrad.

Edward was retired from Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 124 and a 30 year member of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Departmen. He enjoyed traveling and spending time visiting with family.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Oser; six sons, Gary Oser and wife Louann, St. Anthony, Mark Oser and wife Joann, Ferdinand,  Glenn Oser and wife Carol and Donald Lee, all of Boonville, Robert “Sonny” Lee, Lamar, and David Lee, St. Meinrad; two daughters, June Berg and husband Tom, St. Anthony, and Becky Hasenour and husband Bill, Ferdinand; six brothers, John Mohr, Jr. and wife Marge, Ron Mohr and wife Doris, and Paul Mohr and wife Becky, all of Ferdinand, Dick Mohr and wife Elaine and George Oser and wife Henriette, all of Mariah Hill, and Leroy Oser and wife Marlene, Siberia; six sisters, Vita Voegerl and husband Kenny and Frances “Bootsie” Brinkman and husband Jerome, all of Ferdinand,  Dolly Harris and husband Jim and Rita Buechlein, all of Huntingburg, Virginia Hubert and husband Sheldon, Tell City, and Rosemary Downing, Russelville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, David Nord, Jeff Berg, Melissa Knust, Jill Schipp, Christine Oser Ginn, Laura Greemore, Brandy Gansman, Amanda Winternheimer, Jennifer Clark, and Laura, Denise, and Elizabeth Lee; and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife Francille, he was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Donald Oser; five brothers, Bob and Bill Mohr and Jim, Bob, and Walter Oser, and three sisters, Henrietta Bartell, Margie Martin, and Dolores Carnahan.
