Donna R. Scherle, 63, Dubois

Donna R. Scherle, 63, of Dubois, died Thursday (January 4) at her home. She was born in Jasper December 29, 1954, to Claude and Mary Catherine (Brosmer) Mehringer. She married Bob Scherle October 27, 1974, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Donna was a 1972 graduate of Jasper High School. She worked for a number of years as a technician for Verizon Wireless and did office work for various local businesses. She was a member of St. Isidore Parish – St. Raphael’s Catholic Church and the Patoka Valley Quilters Guild. She was a recipient of the Diocese of Evansville‚Äôs Brute Award and enjoyed traveling, quilting with her various small quilting groups, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Scherle; two daughters, Audrey Case and husband Ryan and Alyssa Kluesner and husband Kleet, all of Dubois; one son, Adam Scherle, Dubois; six grandchildren, Rolen, Camden, Kinley, and Callan Case, and Levi and Brogan Kluesner; her mother, Mary Catherine Mehringer, Jasper; three sisters, Diane Verkamp and husband Charlie, Schnellville, Martha Keusch and husband Kevin, Ireland, and Tricia Mehringer and husband Dan, Jasper; three brothers, Stan (Mary Jane) Mehringer and wife Mary Jane,Teague, Texas, and Glen Mehringer and wife Marcia and Mark Mehringer, all of Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Mehringer.

Friends may call from noon-4 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Parish or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
