Did Supermoon Bring Super Cold?

Jasper – (NNDC)

We have experienced our first Super Moon of 2018, what is a Supermoon?  A supermoon happens when the full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth in its orbit. Supermoons make the moon appear a little brighter and closer than normal, although the difference is hard to spot with the naked eye. The last supermoon (the only one of 2017) happened on Dec. 3.

According to the people who know the supermoon does affect tides because of the earth’s gravitational pull but the supermoon is probably not affecting our local weather.

Wind chill advisory remains in effect making it feel much colder than it is as temperatures will remain bitterly cold at times see our extended forecast on newsnowdc.com.

At the end of the month there will be another Big full moon called a Blue moon.  Thanks Cody for the great picture.
