Two More “12 Days” Recipients Announced

Dubois County (From Release) – HOPE Garden and Southern Indiana Education Center are the seventh and eighth recipients of the 2017 Dubois County Community Foundation’s Twelve Days of Giving grants. The Twelve Days of Giving is a yearend granting blitz to 12 local nonprofits. Each recipient receives a $1,000 grant.

HOPE (Helping Others Produce Enthusiasm) Garden grows and distributes thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables to hundreds of needy families annually.

Southern Indiana Education Foundation works alongside principals and teachers onsite in all Dubois County schools, providing support and professional development to grow leadership and help schools be prepared to meet the needs of students as they arise.

The first six recipients announced earlier were Celestine Community Club, Camp CARE, Community CHEW, the Dubois County Humane Society, Dubois County CASA, and Girls On The Run. The remaining recipients will be announced two daily at 4 p.m. through December 8 on local media. The 12 grant recipients were chosen by last year’s grant recipients with the goal of “paying it forward.”

All 12 organizations receiving grants will be eligible for a $10,000 grant chosen by the public on Facebook. The public can cast a vote on Tuesday, December 12, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the nonprofit they wish to receive the final $10,000 grant. A total of $22,000 will be granted to local charity during 12 Days of Giving.
