Two More “12 Days” Recipients Announced

Dubois County (From Release) – Community CHEW and the Dubois County Humane Society are the third and fourth recipients of the 2017 Dubois County Community Foundation’s Twelve Days of Giving grants. Earlier the Celestine Community Club and Camp CARE were named grant recipients.

The Twelve Days of Giving is a yearend granting blitz to local nonprofits. Each recipient receives a $1,000 grant. The remaining recipients will be announced two daily at 4 p.m. December 6 through December 8. The 12 grant recipients were chosen by last year’s grant recipients with the goal of “paying it forward.”

Community CHEW (Child Hunter Ending Workshop) provides meals, fun summer programming, and service project opportunities for food insecure youth in Jasper.

The Dubois County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter that cares for homeless animals, operating a Spay and Neuter program and adoption center for pets.

All 12 organizations receiving grants will be eligible for a $10,000 grant chosen by the public on Facebook. The public can cast a vote on Tuesday, December 12, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the nonprofit they wish to receive the final $10,000 grant. A total of $22,000 will be granted to local charity during 12 Days of Giving. Additional information is available on the Community Foundation’s Facebook page or by calling Nona Baker at 812.482.5295.
