Celestine Community Club, Camp Care First “12 Days” Recipients

Dubois County (From Release) – The Celestine Community Club and Camp CARE are the first two recipients of the 2017 Dubois County Community Foundation’s Twelve Days of Giving grants. The Twelve Days of Giving is a yearend granting blitz to local nonprofits. Each recipient receives a $1,000 grant. The remaining recipients will be announced two daily at 4 p.m. December 4 through December 8. The 12 grant recipients were chosen by last year’s grant recipients with the goal of “paying it forward.”

The Celestine Community Club supports organizations such as the Volunteer Fire Department, Knights of Columbus, and youth activities in Celestine and provides a facility for community activities.

Camp Care (Campers Are Really Exceptional) is a summer recreational program for special needs children and adults of Dubois County. It is a program of the City of Jasper’s Parks and Recreation Department.

All 12 organizations receiving grants will be eligible for a $10,000 grant chosen by the public on Facebook. The public can cast a vote on Tuesday, December 12, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the nonprofit they wish to receive the final $10,000 grant. A total of $22,000 will be granted to local charity during 12 Days of Giving. Additional information is available on the Community Foundation’s Facebook page or by calling Nona Baker at 812.482.5295.
