Barbara Ann Bilderback, 78, Holland

Barbara Ann Bilderback, 78, of Holland, died Tuesday (November 28) at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born near Holland September 19, 1939, to Melvin W.L. and Mabel E. (Langebrake) Bartelt. She married Allen L. Bilderback June 18, 1960, at Zoar Methodist Church.

Barbara was employed for 41 years at Southridge High School by the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation. She was a lifelong member of Zoar United Methodist Church where she served on the administrative council, participated in the United Methodist Women, and taught Sunday school for 60 years. She enjoyed gardening, Southridge Raider athletics, spending time with her family, and vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains.

She is survived by her husband, Allen L. Bilderback; one son, Lee A. Bilderback, Holland; one sister, Thelma Jean Oxley and husband Lester, Stendal; one brother, William E. Bartelt and wife Kathryn, Newburgh; son-in-law Stan Messmer, Huntingburg; one granddaughter, Meagan Bayer and husband Justin, Huntingburg; one grandson, Ben Weber, Indianapolis; and one great-grandson, Brantley Bayer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Friday, December 1st; and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Zoar UMC. Memorials may be designated to the Lynne (Bilderback) Weber Messmer Endowment c/o the Dubois County Community Foundation, Zoar United Methodist Church, or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. (EST) Saturday at Zoar United Methodist Church with burial following in the Zoar Cemetery. Rev. Keith Chanley will officiate.
