The Girls on the Run program is available to all third, fourth, and fifth grade girls in Dubois County. The program, an international non-profit, is a positive youth development program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experienced based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Teams of girls and their volunteer coaches will meet twice a week for 10 weeks to play games, exercise, and learn important life skills.

The fourth season of the program will kick off February 5th and culminate with the GOTR Celebratory 5K on April 28th (rain date May 4). Program fees are income based and ranger from $10 to $100. Scholarships are available through an application process.

All third, fourth, and fifth grade girls are encouraged to join the program regardless of previous running experience and level of physical fitness. Home school students are encouraged to participate at any of the program sites (Northeast Dubois County Schools, Southeast Dubois County Schools, Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools and surrounding area, and Southwest Dubois County Schools).

Girls On The Run is seeking coaches and other volunteers for the spring season to assist with many different aspects of the organization. Volunteer opportunities include coaches, snack fairies, committee members, 5K running buddies, event volunteers, and more.
