Rotary Club of Jasper to Help Dispose of Bulky Items through Grant

Rotarians around the world work to provide clean water, and the Rotary Club of Jasper is no exception.  The local Rotarians received a grant to help keep our local drinking water sources safe and clean.  As a part of the recent Dubois County Creek Sweep, Jasper Rotarians assisted with bulky item pickup from local residents who need assistance with transporting their items.

For a limited time, club members will assist local residents who lack the financial means or transportation to take their bulky items to the Dubois County Solid Waste District for proper disposal.

To find out if you qualify for this special offer, contact Rotarian Judi Brown at (812) 482-1171 Ext. 131 by 4 PM Monday, November 13.

The Dubois County Creek Sweep was sponsored by the Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation District, Dubois County Solid Waste District, and City of Jasper Stormwater Department.  The Rotary Club of Jasper supported this project by providing volunteers on the day of the Sweep, and also through the transport of the large and bulky items.  Over 4,500 pounds of trash and debris was collected out of the local waterways by 38 volunteers during the Creek Sweep.  The Rotary Club has extended their grant project until November 13 to assist as many residents as possible.
