Harold L. Bair, 78, Dubois

Harold L. Bair, 78, of Dubois, died Saturday (October 14) at his home. He was born in Dubois August 20, 1939, to Wilfred and Arnetta (Wolf) Bair. He married Dorothy Wening September 7, 1963.

Harold retired from Wabash Valley in Dubois where he worked for many years. He served in the Indiana National Guard, was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads, and was an avid sports fan, especially softball and baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bair; one daughter, Deidra Pieper and husband Scott, Celestine; one son, Derrick Bair and wife Terra, Jasper; seven grandchildren, Shelby, Colby, and Bodie Pieper, Bralen and Easton Bair, and Hannah and Clayton Nixon; four sisters, Shirley Berger and husband Bill, Muncie, JoAnn Elliott, Boonville, Donna Friedman and husband Michael, Corydon; and Rhonda Tedrow and husband Rick, Dubois; one brother, James Bair, Dubois; and sisters-in-law Patty and Becky Bair, both of Dubois.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Donald Bair.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
