Huntingburg Man Arrested On Numerous Charges

Jasper (NNDC) – A 30-year-old Huntingburg man faces numerous theft, drug possession, and resting arrest chargers following his arrest Thursday afternoon on Jasper’s Southside.

Jasper City Police were called to the Little Caesars restaurant shortly after one o’clock where the owner reported an internal theft by an employee. The subject admitted to taking money on several occasions during his employment totaling $7,184.15. The thefts occurred over  one month period.

After the suspect, Braxton J. Cannon, was detained in front of Smoker Friendly on Newton Street, he was found in possession of paraphernalia, methamphetamine, and multiple controlled substances. During his detainment he resisted law enforcement, was taken into custody and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. He faces charges of theft (9 counts level 6 felony), possession of paraphernalia (class A misdemeanor), possession of methamphetamine (level 6 felony), possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (class A misdemeanor), and resisting law enforcement (class A misdemeanor).
