Emerson R. Sander, 92, Birdseye

Emerson R. Sander, 92, of Birdseye, died Tuesday (October 3) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, June 13, 1925, to Richard F. and Mabel (Fisher) Sander.

Emerson was a butcher and laundromat owner. He enjoyed making antique-style brooms and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Trudy M. Sander; three daughters, Susan Sander, Texas, Linda Zoiss, Wisconsin, and Kathy McCoy, Illinois; one son, David Sander, Illinois; three step-children, Cathy Goosie, Florida, Melinda Conrad, Wisconsin, and Fred Knoth, Illinois; one sister, Vera Sander, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Seth, Sarah, Michael, Alyssa, Fred, Dawn, Elliot, Lisa, and Amenda; and eight great-grandchildren, Nora, Aiden, Lucas, Evan, Audrey, Molly, Clara, and Colette.
