New Exhibit Opens at Krempp Art Gallery

Jasper (From Sources) – “Studio Conversions,” featuring the mixed media artwork of three artists, opens today in the Krempp Gallery at the Jasper Arts Center. The exhibit, featuring the works of Illinois artists Mary Bookwalter, Carol Weber, and Janice Meister, will run through October 30.

The artists found that shared input is invaluable to the usual solidarity art-making process. They also saw that their art making processes of mixed media collage and the common themes within their works were a strong basis for an exhibition. Studio Conversions has grown with each of its five exhibitions. As the work and discussion continues, their collective interest in nature, building media, print processes, and assemblage grown stronger.

An opening reception for the new exhibit is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Krempp Gallery. The reception features art, food, and a cash bar. Everyone is welcome.

The Krempp Gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, until 7 p.m. Thursdays, and from noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
