Accident Causes Extensive Property Damage

Jasper (NNDC) – A one-car accident resulted in extensive property damage and minor injuries to a Jasper woman Tuesday. Jasper City Police report the car, driven by Martha J. Best,  was southbound on U.S. 231 when it went out of control at the intersection of State Road 162, left the road, and crashed through an Indiana right of way fence, a post sign owned by Circle A properties, and an eight-foot chain link fence on the Ackerman Oil property.

Best complained of pain to her chest and back and was transported by EMS to the Memorial Hospital and Heatlh Car Center.

Damage estimates totaled $14,750, $10,000 to Best’s vehicle, $1,000 to the Indiana fence, $750 to the Circle A sign, and $3,000 to the Ackerman Oil fence,
