Illinois Cyclist Arrested On Numerous Charges


Jasper (From Resources) – A 42-year-old man from Herring, Illinois, faces multiple chargers, including a battery on law enforcement charge, following an incident Saturday at the intersection of North Newton Street and Schuetter Road.

Jasper City Police report Nathan S. Jones crashed the motorcycle he was riding at the intersection early Saturday evening. An off duty Indiana State Police Trooper arrived shortly after the crash and identified himself to Jones. When he did, Jones attempted to leave the scene. According to the report, when the trooper took the keys out of the motorcycle Jones stepped off the motorcycle and began to push the trooper.

Moments later Jasper City Police officers arrived on the scene and placed Jones in custody. He admitted to drinking and tested .130. He also tested positive for THC. It was also learned that Jones did not have a valid drivers license.

Jones was booked into the Dubois County Security Center on charges of battery on law enforcement, resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended prior, and operating while intoxicated endangerment.
