Brian J. Boyer, 60, Jasper

Brian J. Boyer, 60, of Jasper, died Wednesday (September 20) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born in Vandalia, Illinois, March 16, 1957, to Bernard and Colleen (Chinnock) Boyer. He married Renee Whittington September 2, 1978, at Lincoln Boyhood Memorial Chapel.

Brian worked for Kimball International for 28 years and as an EMT for Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He enjoyed riding his recumbent bicycle, woodworking, fishing, archery, and the martial arts. He loved animals, flying in airplanes, flying model airplanes, and spending time with his two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Boyer; one daughter, April Lawton and husband Jonathan, Brownsburg; one son, Joey Boyer and wife Ellie, West Lafayette; two grandchildren, Hayden and Brenden Boyer; two sisters, Mary Boyer Israel and husband Richard, Hartford, Connecticut, and Peggy Boyer Cowens and husband John, Oregon; two brothers, Mike Boyer and wife Jackie, Michigan, and Kevin Boyer and wife April, Jasper; and his mother and father-in-law, Doris and Bill Whittington, Jasper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Boyer.

Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church in Ireland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Online condolences may be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
