Lucille M. Wehr, 90, Ireland

Lucille M. Wehr, 90, of Ireland, died Wednesday (September 13) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. She was born in Ireland September 23, 1926, to Robert and Anna (Weidenbenner) Steinhart. She married Pete Wehr Jr. November 12, 1946, at St. Mary’s Church in Ireland. He died September 6, 2006.

Lucille retired from Leeds Selling Tools after 25 years of service. She also worked for the Jenco service station in Jasper. She was a member of St. Mary’s and its St. Anne’s Society and was a member of the Ireland Sportsman’s Club. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and working with ceramics and was a sports fan.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Wehr, Ireland, and Linda Lassen, Deerfield Beach, Florida; one son, Greg Wehr and wife Mary, Bretzville; four grandchildren, Scott Lassen, Mike and Luke Wehr, and Emily Hultin, three step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one step great grandchild; two brothers, Jack Steinhart and wife Evelyn, Dale, and Donnie Steinhart and wife Marilyn, Jasper.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Mike and Patrick Wehr, one sister, Catherine Terwiske, one infant great-grandchild, Tyler Lassen, and one son-in-law, Robert Lassen.

Friends may call from noon-4 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Mary’s St. Anne’s Society will pray the rosary at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
