Dolores L. Rauscher, 83, Huntingburg

Dolores L. Rauscher, 83, of Huntingburg, died Saturday (September 9) at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington. She was born in Jasper July 11, 1934, to Aloysis and Eldena (Zehr) Otto. She married Elbert Russell “Russ” Rauscher September 1, 1951, in Jasper. He died November 27, 1994.

Dolores worked in the housekeeping department of CORE Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Huntingburg. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and the V.F.W. Post No. 2366 Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Ferguson and husband Danny, Evanston, two sons, Stan Rauscher and wife Arlene, Huntingburg, and Tom Rauscher, Jasper; two brothers, Donnie Otto and wife Shirley, Huntingburg, and Denny Otto and wife Marlene, Jasper; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Jane Kratzer, who died February 21, 2012, and two grandchildren, Eric Kratzer and Damien Holmes.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a memorial service conducted by the V.F.W Auxiliary at 6 p.m. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m.Thursday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Ryan Hilderbrand.
