County Residents Helping Hurricane Harvey Victims

DUBOIS COUNTY – (From Releases) – Hurricane Harvey has left a huge hole in the heart of Texas and several local companies are pulling together to help get those in the Houston and Beaumont area get back on their feet.

OFS Brands, Kimball, Jasper Engines & Transmissions, and Best Home Furnishings are Sending Love to Texas. Local residents can join the effort by donating appropriate items to any of the designated drop off locations. Volunteers are available at each drop point to help organize and inventory your donations.

Phase 1 of the collections began Monday and will continue through Friday (September 8). The drop off locations and drop off times are as follows:

HUNTINGBURG MEMORIAL GYM (OFS Brands) – Daily through Friday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

JASPER MUNICIPAL POOL (Kimball) – Daily through Friday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 4 to 6 p.m.

SCHROEDER COMPLEX IN JASPER (Jasper Engines & Transmissions) – Daily through Friday 3 to 6 p.m.

PLANT 3 ON KENTUCKY STREET IN FERDINAND (Best Home Furnishings) Daily through Friday 3 to 6 p.m.

Phase 1 of the collection project is considered Emergency Mode. Those wanting to help are urged to bring an item from the approved list shown below:

  • WATER
  • TOILET PAPER
  • PAPER TOWELS
  • BLANKETS/PILLOWS
  • AIR MATTRESSES
  • NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS
  • TRASH BAGS
  • PLASTIC STORAGE BINS (MEDIUM-LARGE)
  • SOCKS AND UNDERWEAR
  • INSECT REPELLENT
  • BABY ITEMS – Diapers, baby wipes, Desitin, A&D ointment, powder, formula & bottles.
  • PERSONAL HYGIENE SUPPLIES – Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, feminine products.
  • CASH – Any cash donation collected will be used to purchase pallets of bottled water.
