Gregory J. Tretter, 46, Dale

Gregory J. Tretter, 46, of Dale, died Thursday (August 31) at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. He was born in Bloomington January 19, 1971, to Raymond A. and Elizabeth “Betty” (Ebert) Tretter. He married Crystal Lane February 14, 2012, in Jasper.

Gregory worked at Spencer Industries in Dale. He was a member of St. Isadore Parish, St. Raphael Campus in Dubois where he was a catechist, a eucharistic minister and a sacristan. He was an ASE certified auto body mechanic, a skilled painter, and a certified welder. He enjoyed finishing wood products, poetry, playing and listening to music, and playing pool.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Tretter; two sons, Kade and Cole Tretter, Dubois; two step-daughters, Shannon and Brianna Bryant, at home; his parents, Ray and Betty Tretter, Ferdinand; three brothers, Tim Tretter and wife Jill, Overland Park, Kansas, Chris Tretter and wife Dawn, Ferdinand, and Scott Tretter and wife Lisa, Oakland City; of Oakland City; has parents-in-law, Jeff and Brenda Lane, Tell City; one sister-in-law, Tammy Davis, Tell City; and one brother-in-law, Chad Lane, Tell City.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Online condolences may be shared at A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
