Raymond M. “Frog” Hopf, 54, Ferdinand

Raymond M. “Frog” Hopf, 54, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (August 27) at his home. He was born in Huntingburg February 13, 1963, to Rufus and Hildegard (Jacob) Hopf.

Frog was a 1981 graduate of Jasper High School. He worked for Pat Brescher Trucking and for Werner Sawmill. He was a member of the Duff Conservation Club. He was a Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, and NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed truck and tractor Pulls and camping.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Hopf and wife Kathy, Nashville, and Anthony Hopf and wife Abigail, San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Doris Harris, Ireland, and Carolyn Conen and husband Wesley, Huntingburg; four brothers, Gene Hopf and wife Barb, Ireland, Alfred Hopf, Princeton, and Michael Hopf and wife Julie and Jerry Hopf and wife Debbie, all of Huntingburg; sister-in-law Kristina Hopf, Huntingburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Greg and Stanley “Stretch” Hopf.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
