Sharon Kaye Neukam, 64, Haysville

Sharon Kaye Neukam, 64, of Haysville, died Sunday (August 27) at her home. She was born in Jasper September 8, 1952, to Lewis and Marie (Weisheit) Eichmiller.

Sharon was a 1970 graduate of Dubois High School. She worked at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper for 14 years and was child care provider since 1973. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville where she served on the church council, the Altar Guild, was a member of St. Paul’s Choir and taught Sunday School for 17 years. She was a member of Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA) and the Haysville Fire Department Auxiliary for 25 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and the children she cared for.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Neukam; three daughters, Jackie Mundy and husband Scott, Huntingburg, Mindy Lueken and husband Tim, Celestine, and Brittney Prechtel and husband Dennis, Ireland; nine grandchildren, Kade, Kassidy, Kayla, Elijah, Keaton, Grace, Taylor, Abrahm and Elin; her mother, Marie Eichmiller Thimling, Haysville; two sisters, Beverly Beckman and husband Dennis and Marlene Livingston and husband Dan, all of Haysville; and one brother, Sam Eichmiller and wife Missy, Bedford.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Eichmiller, and her step-father, Frank Thimling.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. WELCA of St. Paul’s will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at Memorial contributions can be made to IU Simon Cancer Center, Indianapolis, Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or St. Paul’s Church. Funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Karen Husby will officiate.
