Huntingburg Man Faces Numerous Criminal Charges

HUNTINGBURG (From Release) – Twenty-four-year-old Andrew Burch of Huntingburg faces felonly 5 charges of criminal confinement with bodily injury, felony 6 charges of strangulation and attempted sexual battery, and misdemeanor-A charges of battery with bodily injury following his arrest Thursday evening.

Upon their arrival at the Oak Ridge Apartments, the victim of Burch’s alleged assaults told police officers Hammack and Jones that she was battered and strangled by Burch at his home. They said he also attempted to sexually batter her and stopped her from leaving his residence several times.

After police spotted him running through Oak Ridge, Burch was arrested in the Church of Christ parking lot on North Chestnut Street without incident.
