Haysville (NNDC) – A 17-year old Loogootee female escaped serious injury Monday morning after she lost control of her pickup truck and crashed along Indiana 56 east of Haysville.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says Kenadi Rumble was driving east at about 7:40a when she lost control of her truck on the rain-slickened highway at what is known as “Sendleweck Curve” about two miles east of Haysville.

DCSD says Rumble’s truck went off the road to the right, struck an embankment, overturned, landed on its roof, and then rolled onto its wheels before stopping.

DCSD says Rumble was wearing her seatbelt and suffered only what has been described as a small “bump to the head.”  She refused medical treatment at the scene.  DCSD says the seatbelt greatly minimized the extent of her injuries.

The accident did restrict traffic along the highway to one lane for about an hour to clear the accident debris.  The truck was a total loss.
