Two Arrested On Drug Charges; Were Also Wanted For Other Crimes





Jasper (NNDC) – Police arrested two Jasper men Thursday on drug charges.

Jasper police officers and Dubois County sheriff’s deputies went to an apartment complex in the 600 block of West 36th Street looking for a subject wanted on a warrant.

Officers came upon two subjects.  They were 47-year old Carl Parks and 28-year old Eric Jackson; both list the apartment as their home address.

JPD says while officers were talking with the subjects in the apartment a very strong odor of burnt and raw marijuana was detected by officers.

Police then obtained another search warrant through Dubois County Circuit Court to search the apartment.

JPD says upon receiving the search warrant, officers located marijuana, paraphernalia, and items used in the cultivation of marijuana.

JPD says Parks claimed all ownership of the marijuana, paraphernalia, plants, and growing materials.

A short time later, police discovered both men had outstanding warrants through Dubois County.   Parks had two warrants for Petition to Revoke for Inhaling Toxic Vapors and Jackson had a warrant for FTA for Operating While Intoxicated.

The warrants were served on both and both were taken into custody.

Both men face charges of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Marijuana, Posssession of Paraphernalia from Thursday’s search.
