13U All-Stars Rally In Game One Of World Series Comes Up Short

Mountain Home, AR –  The Jasper 13U All-Stars came up a run short in their rally to win their first game of the 2017 Babe Ruth World Series losing 9-8 to the New England district champions, Keene, NH.

Jasper found itself down 8-1 after four innings.  A five-run sixth for Jasper, aided by two errors on the Keene shortstop pulled Jasper to within a run, but Jasper could only score one more run in the seventh to come up short.

Ian Giesler was 3 for 3 at the plate for Jasper (double, 2 singles).  Both he and Isaac Day each had two RBIs.

The game was the first our four for Jasper in “pool play.”  Jasper plays again at 1:00pm EST against the Mid-Atlantic District champions from Atlantic Shore, NJ.
