Ashley StephensAshley R. Stephens, 25, of Jasper, died Saturday (August 5) of injuries suffered in a traffic accident. She was born in Huntingburg July 23, 1992, to Michael John and Rachel (Stephens) Hopper.

Ashley was a member of the ASPCA. She liked helping people, enjoyed listening to ICP music, and baking, and she loved animals, especially dogs.

She is survived by her mother, Rachel Hopper, Turlock, California; her father, Michael John Hopper, Bakersfield, California; her husband, John Kersh, Jackson, Mississippi; three sons, Timothy, Ace, and Preston Kersh, all of Indianapolis; three sisters, Cassandra Contreras and husband Luis, and Summer Schmidt and husband Gerald III, all of Indianapolis, and Candace Black and husband Randy, Jasper; three brothers, Michael Hopper, Jasper, Josh Blume, Indianapolis, and Levi Hopper, Otwell; a number of nieces and nephews; and her paternal grandfather, Neil Hopper, LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Autumn Hopper, her paternal grandmother,
Charlotte Hopper, and maternal grandparents, Paul and Bonnie Stephens.
