Jasper’s Downtown Now Officially On National Register Of Historic Places

Jasper (Local Sources) – Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz says the city has formally received certification of its Jasper Downtown Historic District.

The new district is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, effective June 12, 2017.

The official presentation of the certificate of registry was given by Michael K. Zoll, the Director of Historic Preservation and Archaeology for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The ceremony was held at the DNR Building as part of the 2017 Indiana State Fair and was attended by Seitz and Darla Blazey, Jasper’s Director of Community Development & Planning.

The certificate is on display at the entry to the Mayor’s Office at Jasper City Hall.
