Tip Leads To Jasper “Psychedelic Grow Operation!

Jasper (NNDC) – An anonymous tip of suspected drug activity led Jasper police to a what is described as a psychedelic mushroom grow operation.

The tip received Friday morning led police to the Village Court Apartments on the city’s far northside.

JPD officers responded along with the department’s K9 who police say “indicated” (possible drug activity) at the front door of the apartment where 27-year old Jonathon Bedford lived.

JPD says no one answered the door when police initially tried to make contact with the apartment’s occupants.

Police then secured a search warrant for the apartment.

The warrant was executed by police at about 12Noon Friday.  Inside the apartment JPD says officers discovered psilocybin (psychedelic) mushrooms and a what is call a “grow” for them, along with a large quantity of marijuana, paraphernalia and edible THC-laced gummy bears.

JPD says Bedford was taken into custody.  He is charged with Dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Dealing Marijuana, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.  He is currently being held without bond at the Dubois County Security Center in Jasper.
