William Henry “Bill” Meyer, 88, Holland

Bill MeyerWilliam Henry “Bill” Meyer, 88, of Holland, died Sunday (July 30) at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. He was born in Holland December 20, 1928, to Henry A. and Mildred (Lange) Meyer. He married Bernice Maria Finke October 23, 1949, in Orange, California.

Bill owned and operated the Westside Grocery in Holland and also worked for Holland Dairy as a driver and salesman. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, where he sang in the choir and held church offices. He was a Kiwanis and Jaycees member

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Maria Meyer; two daughters, Lana Flamion and husband Randy, Holland, and Tara Parman and husband Dave, Monroe City, one son, Brad Meyer and wife Kim, Huntingburg; one sister, Marian Caldemeyer, Holland; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacquelyn Sue Meyer, and one sister, Lucille Meyer.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Church.
