Jasper (NNDC) – The Southern Indiana Leatherneck Detachment #931 (the Marine Corps League), based in Jasper recently donated $1000 to “Honor Flight Of Sothern Indiana.”

Honor Flight Southern Indiana flies veterans  and their escorts out of the Evansville Airport to Washington DC to see their memorials. All expenses are paid for the veterans.  More than 50 veterans from Dubois and immediate surrounding counties have participated thus far.

To date, Honor Flight of Southern Indiana has completed six flights with a seventh scheduled for October 21, 2017.

Honor Flight is currently taking applications from veterans from WW II, Korean War, and Vietnam War.

The Southern Indiana Leathernecks are challenging other organizations and corporations to match or exceed their monetary donation for this cause.
