Jasper Man Facing Several Felony Charges After Confining Woman At His Home

Jasper (NNDC) – An early morning domestic incident ended with a local man in jail now facing several felony charges.

Jasper police say officers were called to home in the 1300 block of Mill Street shortly before 2am Wednesday.  JPD says the woman on the phone was crying and a man was heard yelling at her in the background.

After officers arrived at the home, police determined that 28=year old Isadore Brown, who lives in the home, shoved the female during the incident and then refused her access to a phone to call for help.  JPD says the woman was later able to get to a phone and call 911.

During the on-site investigation, it was determined that Brown had a handgun in the home and is a convicted felon.

Brown was taken into custody and now charged with a Level 4 felony count of possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon, a Level 5 felony count of domestic battery, and Level 6 felony counts of criminal confinement and intimidation.

JPD says he has also been charged with misdemeanor counts of interfering with reporting a crime and possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer.

He remains in the Dubois County Security Center on a $5000 cash bond.
