Norma Eileen Atkins, 80, Jasper

Norma Atkins Obituary Photo900Norma Eileen Atkins, 80, of Jasper, died Saturday (July 15) at The Timbers of Jasper. She was born in Huntingburg March 20, 1937, to Earl and Clois (Wells) Coble.

Norma was a factory worker, a member of New Hope General Baptist Church in Birdseye, and enjoyed playing cards.

 She is survived by two sons, Terry Atkins and wife Donna, Huntingburg, and Gary Atkins and wife Brenda, Dubois;  three daughters, Sherry Howe and husband Rick, Taswell, Ann Mangin and husband Gary, Otwell, and Penny Atkins, Jasper; one brother, Martin Coble, Martinsville; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Leon, Kenny, Red, and Wendell Coble, one sister, Nelma “Shorty” Partenheimer, and two grandsons, Shawn Howe and Daryl Jeffries.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.  Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in Birdseye Cemetery.
