Huntingburg Woman Charged With Shoplifting; More

Jasper (NNDC) – A 19-year-old Huntingburg woman was arrested Friday afternoon charged with shoplifting from the Jasper Wal-Mart store.

Jasper police Taylor Frick was seen running from the store and getting into a Cadillac SUV shortly after 12Noon.  Officers were able to get a license plate number for the SUV which was was located a short time later.  JPD says Frick was with the vehicle in the parking lot at Village Court Apartments just south of West Northwood Ave.

When officers approached, they say Frick allegedly put a bag back in the vehicle and locked the door.  Police say she refused consent to search the vehicle.

JPD says a search warrant was obtained from Dubois County Prosecutors Office.

JPD says a search of the vehicle found stolen items from Walmart along with methamphetamines and paraphernalia.

Among the items taken from Wal-Mart (totaling $155.19) were a lithium battery jump pack as well as other auto accessories.  Household items, including batteries, a light and a fan were also found in the vehicle.

During the search, police say methamphetamines and paraphernalia were also allegedly found.

Frick is charged with a Level 6 felony count of possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor charges of theft, criminal mischief and possession of paraphernalia.

JPD says the criminal mischief charge was due to the fact that items from Wal-Mart had been opened and cannot be restocked by the store.
