Dodi L. Strange, 76, Jasper

Dodi StrangeDodi L. Strange, 76, of Jasper, died Sunday (July 9) at her home. She was born in Martin County March 25, 1941, to Walter H. and Dorothy (Allen) Lents. She married Edward Strange Sr. December 28, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He died May 16, 1992.

Dodi was a registered nurse and worked in long term healthcare compliance for over 25 years. She enjoyed genealogy and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Carla Nicholson and husband David, Edinburgh, and Susan Lane and husband Lowell, Huntingburg; one son, Edward Strange Jr., Jasper; one grandson, who Dodi raised, Jeremy Trusty and wife Mallory, Newburgh; three granddaughters, Thea and Gabrielle Trusty and Madelyn Lane; four great-grandchilren; one sister, one sister, Brenda Levrio and husband John, Lowell; two brothers, Sonny Lents and wife Sandra, Ireland, and Joe Lents, Boynton Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Dixie Vernon, and a close family friend, Monsignor Carl Shetler.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Martin Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Humane Society or to Heart to Heart Hospice in Jasper. Online condolences may be made at
