Linda Lee Katter Pavelka, 79, Huntington

Linda PavelkaLinda Lee Katter Pavelka, 79, of Huntington, died Wednesday (July 2) at her home at Tipton Place. She was born in Holland July 2, 1938, to Raymond and Meta (Niehaus) Katter. She married Rev. John Pavelka June 7, 1964, at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.

Linda was a graduate of Holland High School and Oakland City College. She retired from teaching after 35 years. She was a member of Redeemer\ Lutheran Church and the Redeemer Lutheran Church Women. She enjoyed directing musical programs, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Chanley and husband Scott, Huntington, and Rachel Pavelka, Terre Haute; one granddaughter, Lauren Beer and husband Daniel, Fort Wayne; IN; and two sisters, Karen Dougan, Chrisney, and Mary Ann McDevitt, Crawfordsville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John Pavelka.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund, the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be shared at Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with burial following in St. James Cemetery in Holland.
