Bombers Win OVL Eastern Division Outright

Huntingburg (NNDC) – The Dubois County Bombers won the Ohio Valley League Eastern Division title outright Tuesday night with an impressive 19-9 win over Muhlenberg County at League Stadium; 12 of the 19 Bomber runs coming in the bottom of the first inning.

In the Dubois County first, second baseman Camdon Mercier double in three runs and leftfielder Alex Alders hit a grand slam home run all off Stallions starting pitcher Jacob Bowman.

Alders had five RBIs in game, Mercier had four as did DC first baseman Philip Archer who hit three doubles off Muhlenberg pitching.  CLICK HERE FOR COMPLETE BOX SCORE.

Dubois County is now 24-7 for the 2017 season and have clinched home field advantage for the playoffs which begin July 21st.   The Bombers have been almost impossible to beat at home this season (13-2).

Western Division leading Hoptown also won Tuesday night defeating Fulton 11-2 at Hopkinsville, KY. The Hoppers lead second place Paducah by three games.
